Terms
A plain-English summary of how I work. Every project also has a short written agreement that we both sign before work starts, and that agreement is what applies.
Quotes and prices
The prices on this website and the price calculator are estimates. Your fixed price is the one in your written quote, and anything not in the quote is quoted separately before I do it.
Paying for your website
You pay 50% to start and 50% before your website goes live. Invoices are due within 7 days.
Free homepage preview
After our free chat, I'll design your homepage for free so you can see what you'd get. You're under no obligation to go ahead, and the design stays mine unless you do.
Money-back guarantee
If you're not happy with the first full version of your website, tell me in writing within 7 days of receiving the preview link and I'll refund everything you've paid. The work then stops and the design stays mine. This applies once per project and doesn't cover later rounds of changes.
Your content
You send your logo, photos, prices and text, and confirm you have the right to use them. Your launch date depends on receiving these and your feedback.
Changes
Each package includes a set number of rounds of changes. You send all your changes for a round in one list. Extra rounds cost £60 each. Changing what the site does, rather than how it looks, is new work and will be quoted.
Ownership and your accounts
Once you've paid in full, the website and its design belong to you. Your domain, hosting, payment (for example Stripe), email and database accounts are set up in your name, and you can remove my access at any time. I may show your website in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.
Care plans
Every website has a care plan for at least the first 3 months, then month to month. Either of us can end it with 30 days' notice. Unused time doesn't roll over, and extra work is charged at £40 an hour. If you leave, I hand over your website files and accounts.
Cancelling
Apart from the money-back guarantee, if you cancel before launch you pay for the work done so far, and the deposit isn't refundable once design work has started. If you're buying as a private individual rather than a business, you may also have a 14-day right to cancel.
Responsibility
I'll do the work with reasonable skill and care. I'm not responsible for problems caused by other services (such as hosting or payment providers) or by changes made by someone else. My total liability is limited to the amount you've paid me, except where the law doesn't allow that limit.
Law
These terms and your agreement are governed by the law of England and Wales.
